The following review is from admittedly limited game-play and zero experience with the Warhammer 40K IP.While having a PlayStation Plus account wasn't a deal breaker for me, I know that others have asked about whether it was necessary. It is. You must also create an account with NeoCoreGames where they require that you give them a telephone number ( I really didn't like this so I put in a BS number). However, you can do all this easily from your console, but you may need to switch to the web in order confirm your email account. I used my gmail account.First, I generally don't play A[RPG]'s on console. I prefer PC's for this genre, but the game was inexpensive so I thought I'd give it a try. I have countless hours played with D3 on PS4 but again, I prefer to play it on PC. So far, I've only played just over 8 hours of "Inquisitor", and I'm playing on an older PS4 (not pro). The game runs fairly smooth, though there are some extra long load screens from time to time (around 1 minute), and sometimes the load screen will go totally black for more than a minute, which caused me to restart once. The average load screen took approximately thirty seconds. This might be my system's fault (your mileage may vary). So far there are only two difficulty levels to choose from, "Story Mode" and "Challenge Mode." I started in story mode because I've never played any game in the Warhammer 40K series before (per suggestion of the game). My health bar barely moved. The missions were short and ended abruptly. Killing mobs was far too easy, even for story (Easy) mode. I felt no sense of accomplishment. After a couple of hours in "Story Mode," I created a new character and chose "challenge mode," but even this mode has not given much resistance. I am rarely taken below 3/4 health and I have yet to die. The missions are still too short, and I kept thinking, "that's it?" Also, it seems as if the "better drops" in challenge mode are, so far, not what I expected. It seems as if I'm getting similar gear between the two difficulty modes (not empirical). I think it would be nice to have a few more difficulty settings right out of the gate with a clear difference in loot between those settings. The tutorial library is extensive, easy to access and understand. The learning curve is not difficult and the tutorials are successful in helping with that. The skill system is interesting but not too complex. When I've played though more content I'll re-review the game.
