(NO SPOILERS)Bayonetta, oh, Bayonetta...This game is perfect in every way, it's funny, action-packed,...appealing..., and even sad.I was so happy that I bought this game, and still am.I want to correct things that people have said about this game, although I did patch the game before I played it.People have been saying this game has Framerate issues, screen-tearing, and bad graphics...the sad thing is that this is all in "Comparison to X-Box 360"....Haha, here is the thing, I don't have an X-Box 360, nor do I ever plan to even think about wanting one, but I'm not going to pay $300+ just to buy the same game again to compare them. If you have the money to do this, then all the power to you...but...don't do this, buy another game or something useful to your life instead, which excludes the same game.Don't get me wrong, I'm not a "Fanboy" and I don't like them on either "side"(...well its not that I don't like them, its just that everyone has their well-deserved opinion on things, and they shouldn't criticize others for not agreeing with them.)And if people say the X-Box 360 version is better, then I condone you in getting that version if you have an X-Box, Because its all about getting whats right for you and your wallet. But anyways the PS3 version, with no comparison, is great.I only noticed one screen-tear, the funny thing is when I heard people experiencing "Screen-tearing", I was like wow the whole game screen must just rip and tear...That's not the case: It was a little, tiny scrape next to one of the characters in a movie scene, and trust me it didn't matter the least, it ended in 1 second tops.I only noticed one Framerate issue, in a section of a chapter. It didn't make me die, all it did was slow down game-play...Didn't matter the least. And the graphics, well no explanation needed there...They are pefect. It was a long correction but I felt you needed to hear them. Now on to the review: xDPeople say the story is cliche, nothing new, boring, stupid...But no, well sometimes it might not make sense if you go back and think about it, but no. It's great, not even cliche...I think its because it surprised me at how funny and sad-at-times it was...It just made it such a different and unique game, in the greatest way possible. They also say you can skip all the movie scenes and still play the game like nothing happened, well that's partly not true...Now that I think about it the movie scenes were probably the best part. For me, gameplay and the movies are both great, but as I reminisce, it seems like I played the game to get to the next movie scene...Which is great because the movie scenes were so good, but after I beat the game, I watched/skipped the movies to get to the gameplay, which was also great the first time 'round too, it's a win win. I can't see how one would skip the movies. The game is about 10-12 hours long, but its also kind of hard...But that's a good thing. With this kind of game, it would actually BE boring and tedious to be EASY, though its NOT boring and tedious when you play on Very Easy / Easy, I'm just saying. This game has Very Easy, Easy, Normal, Hard, and Non-Stop Infinite Climax difficulty modes. As you choose harder difficulties, bosses that you met later in the game of Normal, will be foes you encounter early-on in Hard/Non-Stop.This game has a variety of weapons including Laser Pistols, Fire/Lightning claws and even Ice Skates (You actually skate around on them)! That's not even half of the weapons you can get (You get weapons by collecting special discs, or enough disc-pieces to become a whole one, then they will unlock weapons at the store.)You can buy Costumes, Accessories, Items and even Techniques. The items, accessories and techniques are actually all useful, instead of just being there for no reason.Bayonetta has hidden Alfheim Portals, which are portals to mini-games, and they consist that you kill a set number of enemies in a certain way, it's a special challenge and has nothing to do with the main story. And last but not least, some people will probably find some scenes a little adult-ish for kids, although I found it extremely funny and cool, it's no nudity besides when she summons her mega-demons after a bossfight, which is partial. But once you beat the game, and unlock costume-buying options, the costumes you wear won't deplete her clothes, meaning no partial nudity either, but other than those few scenes it should be ok depending on your views, also they use the S word and F word kinda-commonly, the S word more. All in all I can't express the love I have for this game at the end of the day, I enjoyed it from press Play, all the way to the end of the credits, and them some, the credits were great by the way!Its just almost my favorite game out of things like Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy! Some of you might look me in the face and just headbutt me, but that's just how much I love Bayonetta.I hope you all enjoy this game, it is definitely worth $40, even $60!I've been a fan of the beat em up genre for a very long time. It started with Renegade and Double Dragon back in the NES days, and then continued with games such as Final Fight and the Streets of Rage series in the 16 bit era. During the PS2/Xbox era, this genre took a huge leap forward. With the release of games such as Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden, the combat in this genre evolved into something that became brilliantly complex and added an entirely new dimension of depth to the gameplay. And now, with Bayonetta, the genre has reached what is perhaps its peak moment. Bayonetta is an action game that sets a new standard with its fluidity and depth, and is wrapped in a package that shines in a way that is so outrageous and creative, that you can't help but admire it.The character you control, Bayonetta, is a witch with a mysterious past. She's getting relentlessly attacked by angles and other heavenly forces, and it's up to her to fight back and destroy them in the most violent and creative ways possible. That's pretty much the gist of the narrative. There is a story here, but it almost seems to be intentionally convoluted, and also seems to purposely not take itself very seriously. Instead, the focus is on the fantastical individual events that display an absurd amount of humor, sexuality, and creativity. This is a game that delivers an onslaught of sense-overloading stimuli and never ceases to entertain. The level designs themselves begin with somewhat standard fare, but soon progress into epic set pieces that will have you stopping in your tracks, just to absorb everything that's going on around you. Your enemies are savage and ruthless, and give off an uncomfortable contradiction to their heavenly origins. The boss fights are some of the absolute best of this generation...absolutely epic and intimidating, and really give you a sense of accomplishment once you bring them down. Overall, the game is like nothing you've ever seen before. A real feast for the eyes and ears that at times borders on TOO much, but never crosses that line. The heart and soul of Bayonetta is the combat. I could honestly take up the space of 3 or 4 full length reviews when discussing the incredible combat system of this game. In a nutshell, this game sets a new bar for depth , tightness of control, and just overall awesomeness to its fighting system. Throughout the game, you'll be able to acquire new weapons, techniques, and accessories, but what is really stunning is that almost everything is available to the player right at the beginning before they even realize it. Bayonetta's fighting techniques are seemingly infinite in the numbers of combinations you can execute and chain together in battle. You will be forced early on to master the dodging technique, as not only is it necessary to survive, but it also triggers a "Witch Time" mechanic that slows your enemies down and allows you to unleash brutal vengeance upon them. As you play through the game and your skills evolve, you'll start to realize that the more moves and combos you master, the LESS it is that you know about the combat. You will realize the incredible possibilities that Bayonetta is capable of, and this will encourage you to play through the game again and again. This is SO refreshing in an era where many similar games are way too button-mashy and don't reward/encourage skill and creativity in their combat. As an incentive to learn more, you are rewarded after each battle, based upon how well you performed, with currency to purchase items, power ups, and new techniques. The controls are wonderfully responsive. Bayonetta will do what you want her to do, when you want. And most importantly, it is always fun, no matter what style of fighting you choose to adopt. This is the best combat system I've ever experienced in a game of this genre, and that is saying a lot.Not to say the game is completely without some minor flaws. There are some camera issues at times in the areas where Bayonetta is fighting enemies in more narrow corridors. One of the final stages of the game has some major control issues during a mind-tripping vertical walk across some disappearing/reappearing platforms. The colors can appear to be somewhat washed out in some areas, and screen tearing occurs at times (both of these issues are, from my understanding, only on the PS3 version of the game). But none of these issues are anything close to game-breaking. In fact, they're barely minor annoyances. You will be so wrapped up in this crazy game world, slaying the forces of heaven with the most badass fighter to ever grace a game of this type, getting completely caught up with the insanity taking place around you, and having an incredible time the whole way through. Platinum Games has won a spot in my heart for delivering this blood-pumping action masterpiece that surely goes down as one of the best in its genre. Buckle up and enjoy the ride!Play it...just play it. Bayonetta is one of the few games for the PS3 that got me really excited, and not for the heroine. The game has a nice balance of action, and plays smoothly. Has lots of fun little moments in it, and tells a good story. Graphics are very nice as well. I have heard people say that the PS3 version is a poor port of the Xbox version, but, myself personally, have seen no real differences between the two as of yet.Bayonetta is the story of a witch on a quest to regain her memories, but can't say much more without spoiling story too much. It has a fun combo system, and the enemies, which are all angels, still look holy, in a sense, but are still demonic to fight. Enemy design was well done, and very cool! The game also a lot of little easter eggs and bonuses, things that actually can affect gameplay if you know about them, but are very hard to catch, but a nice bonus once you figure them out or learn them.Overall, Bayonetta is an amazing game with beautiful graphics and a good story. I would recommend it to anyone who likes action and fun.Okay, the PS3 version of this game has so much drama around it because it's "a bad port". Which after I beat this game on the PS3 fail to understand how anyone who's actually played the PS3 version can say that. I just have to assume that people who've not played it are the ones saying it. Given that this is easily one of the best games I have ever played. The way I see it, is that there is no way you can miss out on this game if you only own a PS3 just because it has more loading and is less polished. There are screen tearing issues, but you only notice if you actually look for it. Load times when the menu appears, but it's 2 seconds. And slow down in one area, where it doesn't affect the gameplay. [it slows down due to many platforms swirling around a large area]The gameplay is very smooth. You can string together some amazing combos once you get the hang of things. You can equip 2 sets of weapons to interchange during combos for even more variety. Each set a and b, have 2 weapons in it. One kind of weapon set to Bayonetta's feet the other to her hands. Some weapons are exclusive to her hands, like the swords. If you dodge an attack right before it would have hit you, you enter witch time [excluding some instances, like certain bosses] and this slows down time. In the case of enemies on fire, it allows you to physically attack them without taking damage. It also plays into some of the puzzles in the game. Later on you can buy an ability which lets you use witchtime if you get hit as well, you simply press the dodge button R2 right when you get hit. You transform into bats and avoid damage and go into witch time. which allows you to not be perfect. Accessories can also allow you to go into witch time when you get hit every time. There's 2 modes for any beginner to easily pick up Bayonetta and play it. Very Easy and Easy. Each of these difficulties is part of the 'automatic mode' which allows less skilled players a chance to kick some butt with simply pressing one button. The option to use more than that is still there, but it makes it a lot easier for those who need it. So it's an accessible game for those who worry about difficulty. I personally found it quite challenging on just the normal setting. The story is wacky and not to be taken seriously. If you go in with any seriousness, you're going to not like the characters or story. [like all Platinum Games/Clover Studios games really]. I personally enjoyed the story. I found it was different and that made it interesting to me. The music is love/hate. I personally loved it. It's a nice change of pace from other games. It has the epic boss music and the funky jazzy music. This game is fantastic and really should be enjoyed by anyone who's interested in it. Regardless of platform, I think Bayonetta is one of the best games ever created. Especially in it's genre. The game is great on pretty much all fronts. But I had to knock it a star for the terrible PS3 port. It's mostly fixed now with a patch; but without a patch this game was nigh but unplayable.Llego en buen estado, excelente juego, muy recomedableGreat arcade fight adventure type game.I am not a fan but seems great for those how like the type
