Good conditionI bought Neverdead after watching the trailers and thinking it was a pretty neat concept. Most mainstream reviews hated this game, which made me worry. It's also made by Rebellion, which has a pretty sketchy past when it comes to development. The heart and soul of this game is the dismemberment feature, be it for solving puzzles or using your limbs in different means for combat. It makes sense in a way. When you have a protagonist that can't die, you need to have some kind of challenge. I never found it old (all be it sometimes frustrating) as you blow yourself up and all your parts go flying off in various directions. This leads to a mad dash (or roll via your head) to collect your limbs or out run monsters whose sole purpose is to eat your head. The upgrade system also works well, however it takes time to really power yourself up.All the environments are decently done and the "destructible" settings add some flare. But don't think it's anywhere as destructible as Red Faction. It simply adds another element to the game.I will say my two biggest problems with this game are the constant need to protect your partner (you can die very easily) and the insanely fast re-spawn rate of monsters. To constant escort mission of your partner is fine, but she dies so easily. She doesn't seem to be able to hold herself in battles at all. Granted it's nowhere as bad as say Knights Contract, but like most games with an AI guardian, it could be better. With the monster re-spawn, it can be insanely fast. Especially in an area where you cannot progress until you kill all the monsters and spawn points. This element gets rather frustrating later on, when you have multiple spawn points and you are surrounded by hordes of monsters. All in all, Neverdead isn't a bad game. Yes its not worth 60 dollars, but if you need a time filler and need a decent game Neverdead would be a good choice. Just don't expect it to be anything amazing and it won't disappoint you. There have been some negativity towards this game. After all, a game with "Dead" in the title will unavoidably be compared to other similarly-themed games and being released amongst big names over the recent months. It is no wonder this game will be heavily criticised.Nevertheless, we gamers game because we enjoy it, not if a title makes a good score or gets popular. So my review has this perspective.I always appreciate a game with a sense of humour, and this is one of those titles. Previews already revealed that you get to control a reluctant hero who can get dismembered at will and toss your arm like a stick of dynamite. Your head rolls about on the ground after being blown up to reunite yourself with the rest of your parts. The dialogue is tongue in cheek and lightens up the mood in the monster/corpse theme. Voice acting admittedly is not the best in the business, but its still good.Graphics and sound are good, not the best, but still pack a punch when explosions go off and monsters growl.Add these into a mix of guns, bombs, and a hot female partner, and you have a great third person Action/Adventure title. This game has a couple of interesting parts for one the way to use the sword is original and fun. The immortality bit is awesome and has some cool parts.Despite all this even though i rated the game high it has a couple of SERIOUS game breaking flaws. For one the camera angle kinda sucks. This is serious because every time an enemy so much as looks at you, a body part comes off. If you play on normal or easy you wont suffer from this as much but on hard all you do is fight to keep them attached. The gun have no sense of satisfaction by sound alone you cant tell you are even shooting.overall guys this is a game worth buying very fun just avoid the hard mode on your first play through. There are a couple of new and fun innovative things added to this game.Wow. This game was made back when Konami still made video games! The game is okay, but it was better than nothing.I had a great time playing this, even though it can be a bit repeatative (barely) and difficult at times (because you can fall apart at the slightest touch at times), i found the game to give me a rewarding feel each time I moved on in a level, (i was playing on hardest difficulty mind you) and the bosses make the game even more fun. I suggest getting this game if you are a fan of the devil may cry games and other games of the similarity. A must play imo.pros-environmentability systemstorycharacterspacingcons-length (expect 5 to 7 hours on hard difficulty)controls (in my opinion i found the controls fun and refreshing, but i can see how casual players could have a hard time using them)It was new, been wanting to play since I was a kid when my dad didn’t get it for me haven’t played yet as I’m afraid it won’t live up to the nostalgia from the commercialsIt's a fun 3rd person shooter with some innovative gameplay. The best part of the game is the highly destructible environments. Picture having a massive gunbattle in a museum, pillars are toppling, the windows are being shot out, even the walls are being smashed with rockets. It's really graphically awesome. There are also some clever puzzles that have to do with you being immortal. For example if you need to get through a tiny duct but can't fit, just tear your head off and toss it in the duct! There's all sorts of clever things you can do when your character cannot die!The downside to this game is that the swordfighting mechanics are rubbish. The same goes for being dismembered while in combat (for puzzles it's fine). For swordfighting and combat dismemberment you're going to have to deal with clunky controls and crazy camera angles. It's a shame, because if it wasn't for these flaws Neverdead would be a really great game.As it is I can only rate it 3 stars and say buy it if it's $10 or less. The case and disc were in tip-top shape. The case had no damage and the disc was very clean; no scratches or smudges. Game ran smoothly during play through. No complaints with the product. Overall, very happy with my purchase.
