I ordered this game about 5 months ago and didn't play it until recently. I didn't realize how good it was! This hidden gem's been sitting on my shelf for months. It's like the old school arcade game where you would actually sit in a sort of simulator. If I recall it's one of those games that was like 50 cents when most video games in the arcade cost a quarter. You actually have the option of playing the arcade version with the 80's era all green graphics. VR takes it to another level. The campaign mode is pretty difficult, even on easier settings. You get a randomly created map where you get to choose from a number of tanks to play with and you choose your path to the final level. You can take the roundabout way and play a bunch of levels but enemies get more powerful the more levels you play. There are special hexes that you can go to and purchase new weapons for your tank. Even if you take the most direct route the final levels can be extremely difficult. The graphics are really good but it's not meant to look realistic. For those of my generation think Tron with less of a glow. This game should be pretty mellow for those who get queasy from VR games, but there is a lot of motion. At least you're not turning upside-down or anything. The controls are pretty easy to use. You actually have to use the right thumb pad to aim...your aiming reticule is not controlled by where you're looking. Your aim can be inverted if you wish. I always play games like this with the aim or up-down controls inverted since I grew up playing games that way when changing it wasn't an option. In this day and age it makes me the weirdo, though.WARNING! There is no option to switch between VR and non-VR mode. I found this out the first time I fired up the game. They came out with the Gold Edition update a while back, so the game can be played without the headset. YOU NEED TO HAVE YOUR HEADSET TURNED ON WHEN YOU START THE GAME OR IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY PUT YOU IN 2D MODE AND THERE'S NO WAY TO CHANGE IT IN-GAME. Oftentimes I'll start a game and then turn on my headset and put it on while the game is loading. That doesn't work with this game so turn on your headset early.Like most PSVR games you don't find a lot of people playing online. Either that or I'm just unlucky every time I try. Still, the game has a solid campaign mode and a very high replay value. I have a lot of VR games and this might just end up being one of my top 10. I'll have to see how quickly I get bored from it.A very fun challenging game. You have 4 people and you team up to kill the AI overlord in a first person shooter tank. It's very fun and outright hard. The only issue is the player base isn't very active so you gotta deal with who ever is playing. Other than that great gameBattlezone has a great co-op campaign story but it s not innovative. That s where i take a star out because it does amazing things but there is a little issue. The maps look practically the same. It would have been better if the devs were projecting 3 or 4 different maps at least in variation but no the map look just the same. This game use procedural technology which means that the replay ability is amazing although be aware of the most frustrating rules that the devs implemented for gamers that just started.1. if all your team mate and no chance to be revived anymore then you failed your entire campaign. This is where it s frustrating because if you just started the game for the first time, it will be difficult. Also the mechanics of the game aren't well explained. For example they do not mention that if you stay close to your friends it will heal you automatically and regain your energy. A lot of players i play online with weren't aware for this regeneration. You are also dependent on other players which means that someone can screw your campaign for you to start all over again.2. you do not keep your upgrades and you have to restart to accumulate your point to get them back.Verdict 4 stars for the game as it is a good game to start with although not goo enough for a 59 price tagBattlezone is very true to its early 80s arcade roots which is a great thing but it comes with one huge drawback in comparison to most modern games on the market today. The difficulty on the easiest setting is insurmountable without the support of skilled online players. Playing solo or with inexperienced people online is futile. I enjoy hard games, love grueling titles like Dark Souls, but this game is both punishing and lacks progression. Every time you lose you start from 0. There is no building of resources or leveling up your tank. No working on the game until you are strong enough to take on the challenge. No saving enough in game currency to buy a weapon to help make it further after death. You run out of lives, its game over. Back to square one. As others have stated the game is very immersive. If you ever wanted to enter the movie Tron then this game might be for you. Just be aware that the title is extremely hard even on the lowest difficulty setting. You will die many times and have nothing but experience to show for it.Correction: You do unlock hundreds of weapons which will allow you to purchase them in subsequent campaigns. You can also unlock more powerful tanks by beating the game so there is some progression to be found, you do not really start from zero every time. This is the first game I demoed for PSVR and also the first one I purchased. Totally worth the price, and the co-op mode is an awesome added bonus to its already obtained level of perfection. This game is fun, challenging and immersive. Graphics are great. No problems with tracking or motion sickness. The randomly generated campaign gives it endless re-playability. I've been playing all day and am now laying here in bed typing this review before I go to sleep and I'm wanting to go back to finish the next level of the campaign. Definitely the AAA game that PSVR needs. I'm not a huge gamer, maybe two hours a week if I'm lucky, but this game, and PSVR, are so awesome that my gaming habits will be changing! Haha. This is a fun game. I love how you feel like your actually driving a tank. It's not overly difficult however I do dislike that you have only a certain amount of lives b4 having to restart. I get severe motion sickness with most psvr games and this one is one of them however I take a dramamine a hr b4 game play and am good to go.Solid, Tron like graphics, killer soundtrack that enhances the feel of the easily controlled tank destruction. Just a joy to play and a great vr experience, a must have if you own a vr headset.Would have gave it five stars but case came cracked probably from shipping disappointingSe disfruta bastante dos o tres horas.Luego te das cuenta q está muy aburrido.Mi peor juego de PSVR hasta la fecha. As advertised and it was fast shipping to.Los visuales que trae este juego son muy buenos.
